indecisive hot mess

China Glaze - Frostbite (2 coats)
Deborah Lippmann - Across the Universe (2 coats)
OPI - Turquoise Shatter

I started off with 2 coats of Frostbite, and was planning to wear it on it’s own. It is a gorgeous vibrant royal blue shimmer. It reminds me of superheroes, like maybe the blue spandex in Wonder Woman’s outfit, especially with the finish. Unfortunately, when I applied Seche Vite I got black streaks all over my nails. Guess my SV brush had polish on it from a previous mani. So then I tried putting Across the Universe over it to cover the streaks since I didn’t feel like starting over. I thought Frostbite would brighten up Across the Universe and make it look more vibrant, but I applied Across the Universe too thick and the glitter wasn’t very visible. You can see a few pieces of glitter on my thumb, but mostly the glitter is lost in the base and it ended up just dark and inky blah. Then I went to a friend’s house and decided to try out her Turquoise Shatter to try and make it look better. Like OPI’s Silver Shatter, Turquoise Shatter doesn’t really shatter over dry polish and needs to be applied over wet polish. I applied a random Revlon clear coat first so that it would shatter better.

End result? I’m not really that excited about this mani but it’s decent. My nails disintegrate without polish on them now lol so I’ll leave this on until I have time to fix it. This mani ended up being TEN coats of polish (OPI - Nail Envy, CG Frostbite x2, SV, DL - Across the Universe x2, Gelous, random Revlon clear coat, Turquoise Shatter, Gelous) so it is quite thick and lumpy which is bugging me.
